Deconstructed Napoleon III Armchair - I

France, 19th Century

$1,495

Antique

One-Of-A-Kind

Exactly As Pictured

Found in Vauvert, this Napoleon III armchair dates to the late 19th century, when French interiors shifted toward softer, more inviting seating made for lingering rather than formality. Pieces like this were often fully upholstered in velvet or brocade and placed in salons and private sitting rooms, designed for conversation and long afternoons. The original upholstery has been stripped back, leaving the curved silhouette fully exposed - the rounded back, low seat, and gently scrolled arms still doing all the work. It sits on turned black legs that ground it just enough. Sylvie pulls it into a corner where it can stand on its own.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
