It came to us from a glass dealer in Lyon, a man who learned the trade at his father's side and, like his father, spent a lifetime holding each piece up to the light before letting it go. This one is a cut-glass cloche, a domed cover worked with fans and diamonds and topped with a little ball to lift it by. Cut glass like this was made to be seen through, the facets catching the light and throwing it back off whatever sits beneath. Sylvie sets it over a wedge of cheese or grapes on her kitchen counter.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, these pieces have been used for many years and may show light wear consistent with their age.
All items are final sale.
