Found outside Lyon from a dealer we've worked with for years, this vintage French glass piece came from his father's collection, built up over decades of looking. The pressed glass is a small domed cloche cut in bands of diamond lattice and raised bullseye lenses, finished with a fluted knob to lift it by. Domes like it were set over a cake or a round of cheese to keep it under cover, the glass letting you see what was waiting without lifting the lid. Sylvie drops it over whatever is on the counter, the kind of piece that turns an everyday thing into something worth looking at.
