One-Of-A-Kind

Somewhere in the forest a chase is already underway, the fox low and running, a bird startled up into the branches, everything held still at the moment before it breaks. Found in a grand maison in Normandy, this 19th-century tapestry is woven in soft golds and faded greens, a dense woodland scene with a château glimpsed far off through the trees. Tapestries like it were made to bring the forest indoors and cover the cold walls of a house in a landscape you could live inside, the whole wall going green from across the room. Sylvie hangs it where it fills a wide wall, the fox and the bird waiting to be found by anyone who looks long enough.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
