Rare Cheval Magazine Holder

Found in Béziers, this rare French magazine holder is straight out of a 1950s Parisian study, the kind of small piece that hit at the height of the équestre anglais obsession - when French taste fell hard for the English country gentleman, his horses, his hounds, and his weekend pursuits. A panel of a fox hunt in full chase is set into each side of the case, the painted horses mid-gallop across an English field, framed in deep racing green tole and standing on slim brass legs with a tall arched handle for carrying it from room to room.
