Found in Avignon, this 20th century French farm chair is a simple country piece, the kind made for a kitchen and used hard for decades. Chairs like this were made one at a time by the village carpenter rather than bought as a set, which is why an old farmhouse kitchen was almost always ringed with chairs that nearly matched but never quite. Four have come through here, each sold on its own. Sylvie pulls one up to a desk, or stands it in a corner with a stack of books on the seat.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
