In every French farmhouse kitchen there was a chair like this - pulled up to the table for breakfast and pushed back for the rest of the day. Found in Avignon, this antique French chair is built in pale oak with a ladder-back of three flat slats, a plank seat shaped to fit, and four square legs joined low by stretchers all the way around. Sylvie pulls one up to a writing desk, or sets six around a long farmhouse table for a Sunday lunch that runs into the afternoon. Six available, sold separately.
