Originally part of a 19th-century French dinner service, this wide and shallow footed bowl with decorative handles would have been used for serving stewed fruit or chilled compote. The hand-painted poppy garland and soft blue florals are classic of turn-of-the-century faïence. Sylvie loves to keep her's on display, piled high with citrus on her kitchen farm table- the contrast of the crisp blue-and-white ceramic against weathered wood is très magnifique.
