Gianelli didn’t always paint in color. We found this charcoal nude in Aix-en-Provence - a rare, intimate work by Antoine Marius Gianelli (1896–1983), best known for his vivid scenes of the Caribbean and French overseas territories. Trained in Marseille and Paris, his hand here is quiet, precise, and undeniably confident.
