Yellow Confit Pot - XL

Once upon a time, in old and busy French kitchens, confit pots were essential for preserving rich foods like duck confit. This one is very special as it features a green drip. Derived from the French verb confire, meaning "to preserve," these pots feature a half-glazed top and unglazed bottom, perfect for covering in fabric and burying in cool cellars or the ground. These pots are becoming harder to find, and are often thought to be the king of all the antique French kitchen pots. This particular example is especially rare, with two distinct green drips of glaze trailing down its side, a quirk of its firing that makes it one-of-a-kind.
