Tapestry - The Forest

France, 19th Century

$895

Antique One-Of-A-Kind Textile
Framed in solid wood and discovered in Lyon, this late 19th c. French tapestry captures a pastoral scene of village life—rolling hills, a stone bridge, and lush foliage rendered in thick, textured threads. The palette is rich but muted, with olive greens, ochres, and russets that speak to its age. Sylvie found it tucked away in a dealer’s attic, still mounted in its original wooden frame. It’s the kind of piece you hang once and never take down.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
