Sylvie Favorite

Lemon Tree Winetasting Table

France, 20th Century

$1,395

Sylvie spotted this one in Aix-en-Provence, though its story begins in Burgundy. A 20th-century wine tasting table, it once lived in the cool stone cellars of vintners, its circular top the stage for sampling and debating the year’s harvest. Built with a tilting mechanism, the top could be folded upright and pushed against the wall, making space once the glasses were drained and the barrels sealed. The pale pine boards and sturdy trestle base still carry that quiet utility, softened by decades of use. Sylvie imagines it now set with a bottle and a few glasses, ready to be gathered around once more.

  • Dimensions:

    28" H x 42" W x 42" D

  • Material:

    Wood

  • Notes from Sylvie:

This piece is in really good shape, solid with slight lightening patina and a couple dark spots on the surface. Functions beautifully. Past woodworm holes, repairs, cracks, patina, and stains all add to its character.
