Antique Rare Wood Sylvie Favorite

This one lived a past life as a farm table in a Provençal château. Now cut to coffee table height, it keeps all the character, especially that unusually wide frame, nearly impossible to find at this scale. Made of solid oak with a single drawer and beautifully worn edges, it was found in Avignon and dates to the 19th century. Sylvie loves to style it with stacks of books, a favorite vessel, and whatever needs a proper landing spot.

Notes from Sylvie:

This piece is incredibly sturdy and solid. The top has clearly been exposed to light over the years so it is a little lighter than the base. There are some significant gaps in the boards on the top from years of the wood expanding and contracting, but that does not affect its functionality at all. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
