Small but full of personality, this 1870s French entryway table once stood in a country maison outside Avignon, catching the day’s post and the occasional love note in its single drawer. The dark wood frame has the kind of patina only a century and a half of use can make, and the curved legs and stretcher give it just the right amount of flair. Sylvie likes it in a hallway as a cheerful landing spot for keys, or under a window topped with a lamp and a pile of well-thumbed mystery novels.
