Round and perched on bold bobbin legs, these stools hail from 20th-century French farmhouses where they were used as low milking stools or work perches near the hearth. The compact design made them easy to move from room to room, while the turned legs added a bit of flair to everyday function. We have two, each with slightly different wear on the seat. Sylvie keeps one beside the tub for a book and bath salts, and the other by her reading chair with a steaming mug and whatever novel she’s deep in.
