Moroccan Jabbara Pot
Morocco, 19th Century
$695
From kitchen essential to collector’s piece. Found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, this large two-part Moroccan Jabbara pot is richly decorated in blue and white ceramic, its intricate geometric motifs a signature of Fez craftsmanship. A small chip at the lip hints at a long, well-lived history. Derived from the Arabic word jubna, meaning cheese, the Jabbara pot was originally used to store dairy and churn milk before finding new life as a vessel for serving soups like harira. Sylvie admires its scale and detail, a piece that bridges the practical and the ornamental with ease.
