This grape harvesting basket was handwoven in Normandy in the 1920s from wicker over a wooden frame, finished with a curved bamboo handle. It once carried grapes and apples through the orchards and vineyards of northern France. The wicker has softened into a greyed, weathered surface after decades of use, giving it a beautifully aged finish. Sylvie likes it overflowing with blankets on top of a cabinet or leaned casually in a corner.
