A true one of a kind, exactly as pictured.

Beautifully worn table surface with cracks and gaps between the boards and a slight front to back wobble. The table has beetle holes throughout and evidence that the table has been altered throughout its life. It has been set on feet to raise it up. The drawers function beautifully, though they have gaps and cracks as well.

This table was discovered in a brocante in Uzès. In a previous life, it was a traditional farm table, however, it has since been elevated to be a kitchen island. Each drawer was used to store utensils, linens, and mementos, keeping the household organized. Over the years, it became more than just a functional piece, holding the stories of generations who gathered around it.

Uzès, a hidden gem in the south of France is where this story begins. Situated between Provence and the Languedoc, this medieval town is known for its winding cobblestone streets, grand Renaissance architecture, and the striking Duchy of Uzès. With roots tracing back to Roman times, Uzès has been shaped by diverse cultural influences, from ancient aqueducts to aristocratic estates.

Surrounded by sprawling vineyards, ancient olive groves, and the peaceful countryside of Occitanie, Uzès is just as serene as it sounds. It is here where Sylvie put on her comfortable shoes and got lost wandering these ancient streets and its nearby villages.

Sylvie explored age-worn courtyards, connected with local antique dealers, and sifted through forgotten spaces to curate a selection that brings to life Uzès’ storied past.
