17th Century Oak Farm Table with Drawer

France, 17th Century

$1,295

Ok, so this girl is old and we couldn't find her more beautiful. This Louis XII dark oak farm table, dating back to the late 16th or early 17th century (I know, wow!), features a single deep drawer and beautifully turned legs. The timeworn patina and cracks on the surface reflects centuries of use, making it a truly unique statement piece for your home office or living room as a side table.

  • Notes from Sylvie:

Dear collector this piece is extremely old, from the 1600-1700s, it has cracks, scrapes, scuffs and a slight wobble from end to end but its a beautiful table and functions really well. You can't find this kind of character!

The Louis XII Dark Oak Farm Table was originally found in a grand chateau near Marseille and later kept in an antique dealer’s warehouse, passed down through three generations of custodians. When we acquired it, the entire family was present—each generation watching over this extraordinary piece of history passing it down to Sylvie. The weathered oak tells stories of meals shared, letters written, and daily life from centuries ago.

Marseille, the vibrant port city of the Mediterranean, is a place where history, culture, and tradition collide. Founded over 2,600 years ago, Marseille is one of France’s oldest cities, with a rich tapestry woven from its diverse influences—Greek, Roman, and beyond. The city’s bustling markets, colorful neighborhoods, and sun-soaked coastline have long been a melting pot of ideas, artistry, and craftsmanship.

The surrounding Provençal landscapes, with their olive groves, terracotta rooftops, and rugged coastline, offer a glimpse into the soul of Southern France. It’s here, in and around Marseille, that we uncovered our latest collection of antiques—pieces that speak to the city’s maritime spirit and eclectic soul.

Sylvie rummaged through dusty, forgotten warehouses, met with third generation antique dealers and found herself wandering through vibrant seaside markets to curate this collection.
