There are minor line impressions on the front edge of the velvet upholstery. One of the chair backs has a slight twist to it, but they are both perfectly functional.

The Louis XVI ‘Sheep Bone’ armchairs were once prized for their sculptural beauty and presence during gatherings of nobility. The term “sheep bone” refers to the distinctive curves and flowing lines of the chair, which mimic the natural shape of bones, giving them an organic yet refined look. Château St Pons, with its rich history dating back to the 16th century, was a meeting place for dignitaries and aristocrats, and these chairs likely witnessed important conversations and decisions. Upholstered in mustard yellow velvet, they sat in the grand rooms that once hosted the lords of Provence and high-ranking visitors, blending opulence and grandeur of the château.
