Styling Essential

Found throughout European wine regions in the 19th and early 20th centuries, these glass demi-john bottles were once used to store and transport wine, vinegar, or oil. Their woven straw or wicker casing helped protect the fragile glass during travel - especially across bumpy countryside roads and made them easier to carry by hand or cart. This one, discovered in the French countryside, still retains its original handwoven wrapping and green-tinted glass. Sylvie loves using them as sculptural statement pieces on a table or shelf - or filled with branches for a bit of height and texture.
