Yellow Confit Pot
France, 19th Century
$295
This vintage yellow confit pot is a true piece of French culinary history. In the days before refrigeration, French kitchens relied on these pots to preserve meats like duck and goose, a method known as 'confit.' The top half is glazed in a rich yellow, while the bottom remains unglazed - a design that allowed the pot to be partially buried in cool earth, keeping its contents fresh. Its chips and imperfections are badges of honor, telling tales of bustling kitchens. Sylvie loves it perched on a shelf holding fresh herbs or as a centerpiece on your dining table. Exactly as pictured.
