Ok so, we're obsessed with these mid-century hand-carved Alsace chairs, where vintage craftsmanship meets farmhouse folklore. We love them as decorative chairs against an empty wall or statement dining chairs. 4 available.

Listen closely, dear collector, the legs and backs of these chairs have a significant wiggle to them. They are perfectly functional, but definitely wiggly. The seats of the chairs each are worn in slightly different ways and some have the finish worn away entirely in spots.

These mid-century Alsace chairs are a perfect blend of vintage charm and folk artistry, straight from the heart of France’s Alsace region, known for its deep-rooted woodworking traditions. Each chair features stunning wood grain and a naturally developed patina that speaks to its history, along with a delicate heart motif carved into the backrest. The craftsmanship is unmistakable—these chairs were created with skill passed down through generations, reflecting the care and artistry of a time when furniture was both functional and beautifully designed. Found tucked away in a quiet corner of rural France, these chairs carry the spirit of the countryside, where every detail tells a story of tradition and artistry.

Avignon, a city steeped in history and has long been a jewel of Provence. Known as the seat of the Papacy during the 14th century, Avignon became a center of power and culture, leaving behind a legacy of stunning architecture, art, and craftsmanship. The city’s rich history is palpable in every stone of its ancient streets, where the past and present blend seamlessly.

The surrounding countryside, with its rolling vineyards, lavender fields, and quaint villages, has been a source of inspiration for artists and artisans alike. It is here, amidst the serene beauty of Provence, that our latest collection was unearthed.

From intricately carved stools to delicately crafted ceramics, each piece in this collection reflects the artistry and tradition of Avignon and its surroundings. Whether it’s a piece discovered in a centuries-old farmhouse or a find from a grand Provençal brocante, these items carry with them the spirit of Avignon.
