Unique Confit Pot

France, 20th Century

$155

A soft gray glazed stoneware crock with twin loop handles and a generous rounded shape, finished with those little kiln freckles and tiny glaze pinholes that only handmade pottery gets away with. There’s a single dark iron drip down one side, plus a bit of warm firing color at the rim, all the proof you need that this was made to work, not to sit pretty. Originally used for storing and preserving food in the pantry, it’s in good antique condition with honest wear and no obvious repairs. Use it now as a utensil crock on the counter or a sculptural catchall on an open shelf.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
