We had to fight off the crowd in Avignon for this one, but Sylvie is nothing if not determined. This large oval coffee table, sourced from a Lyonnais dealer, is crafted from solid oak. True French coffee tables are exceptionally rare to come by - most were dining or side tables cut down later in life. The oval form softens its generous scale, while the thick top and grounded base highlight the strength of its construction. The oak grain carries the natural character of age, visible in every line and surface. Sylvie likes to keep it layered with art books and flowers, but it’s just as striking left bare.
