We found this Louis XV gilt mirror in Montpelier, and honestly, we’re still swooning. Hand-carved in the 19th century with basket weave, scrolling florals, and shell motifs at the crest, it’s elaborate in the best way. The gilt has mellowed to a warm glow, and the mirror shows the soft blur of age. Sylvie loves it leaned against the wall above a console where it quietly steals the spotlight.
