Sylvie Favorite

This bench has already done its job for a long time - and it’s ready to keep going. Originally from Portugal made from solid oak, it was built with a single wide plank seat, a tall back, and straightforward pegged construction meant to hold real weight, day after day. The proportions are generous, the arms thick and worn smooth where people naturally reached for them. The surface shows exactly what you want to see: softened edges, old tool marks, small splits in the top board, and one early pinned repair that’s been holding firm ever since. Sylvie loves it in an entry where boots get kicked off or along a wall as a low bench that anchors any room.
