This one is full of mysteries. A little taller than a typical table, this French work table stands at that perfect in-between height that lets it shine as a kitchen island or a console table. Sylvie sourced it for its hard working charm, beginning with the locked top-right drawer that refused to budge no matter how many tricks she tried. The drawer just below it offers its own surprise, with a secret covered compartment tucked inside. The case is built from quarter-sawn white oak, wonderfully stable and deeply grained, while the top is a later pine addition with old stains, wood filler, and all the marks of a surface that has seen real action. The hardware varies from drawer to drawer, a clue that this table evolved with its owners over time.

This piece has one drawer (upper right) that we can't open, it is locked- secrets inside!. The case is oak, but the top is a more recent stained pine add on. Both cabinet doors have hemp loops for opening. As with many antiques, this piece has been repaired, it has cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
