Sylvie Favorite

There’s something about this one that feels like it still remembers the rhythm of the house it came from. Found in Avignon and originally from the Pyrenees in the late 19th century, this tall laundry cupboard would have stood quietly in a service room, holding stacks of freshly pressed linens - still warm, faintly scented with soap, folded and refolded by hand. The wood is soft-toned and worn, with carved panels that carry a kind of beauty you only see in rural mountain craftsmanship. Inside, it would have been all order and routine, shelves lined with sheets, towels, tablecloths waiting for their turn back into the main rooms. Sylvie loves it standing tall in a bedroom, filled again with linens, doors closing on that same quiet sense of care it was built for.
