A classic French champagne bath with a wide bowl and pedestal base, designed to keep bottles chilled and close at hand during long meals. This (mostly likely) silver plated piece, found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, carries the soft wear and gentle markings that come with years of celebration. Pieces like this were used to present bottles tableside at cafes or bistros. Sylvie loves it filled with ice and champagne, or simply set out on a table with fruit piled high.
