You don’t come across cabinets like this very often, the kind that feel like they’ve quietly held a home together for decades. Found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and originally from a Provençal farmhouse, this 1940s piece is built from wood with a softly curved bonnet top and glass-paneled doors all the way around, each one slightly imperfect in that way only age can create. The painted finish has worn gently at the edges, revealing layers beneath, while the small panes give glimpses of whatever is kept inside, from everyday ceramics to collected objects. It was likely used to store dishes or pantry goods, but Sylvie keeps it filled with a mix of pieces, letting the cabinet do most of the talking.
