This is the kind of piece you spot tucked into the corner of a brocante and immediately know you’re taking home. Found just outside of Lyon and dating to the early 20th century, this small wooden stool was likely used in a provincial kitchen or workshop, built low and sturdy for everyday tasks. The top is a thick single plank, set on four solid legs with simple cutouts at the base. The wood has worn into a soft, uneven tone, with visible marks across the surface from years of use - just the way we like it. Sylvie loves it next to a sofa or bed, just enough space for a book and a coffee.
