Found in Avignon from one of our favorite dealers, this 19th century Spanish table likely began life in a farmhouse or workshop where sturdy, hand-built pieces were used for daily tasks like food preparation or weighing goods. The thick plank top sits on two curved trestle legs joined by an iron chain stretcher with a hanging weight, a practical construction used to stabilize the base and strengthen the structure. Sylvie loves it beside a sofa with a stack of books and a lamp on top.
