One-Of-A-Kind

This 19th-century French oak table à jeux ouvrante is carved on all sides with foliate panels and retains its original key. A hidden swing-out gate leg at the back supports the top when opened, turning the compact wall table into a full octagonal surface. Pieces like this lived in the parlor, opened for tea, cards, or serving when guests arrived, then folded back to save space. The turned legs and deep carving show the care given even to practical furniture. Sylvie uses it as a side table that can open when needed, and it’s still deeply satisfying to unfold. Dimensions when open: 30.5: H x36" W x33" D.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
