The top is thick and worn, marked with small holes and indentations from decades of use, while the base is solid and straightforward, held together with simple joinery that was meant to last. Sylvie loves it used as a console behind a sofa or along an entry wall, left mostly open with a single vessel or stack of books so the surface can speak for itself.
