It came to us from a glass dealer in Lyon, a man who learned the trade at his father's side and, like his father, spent a lifetime holding each piece up to the light before letting it go. Small and footed, it is pressed glass, a scalloped bowl cut with facets, raised on a short pedestal and a petalled foot. Pressed in a mold to throw light like cut crystal, glass like this was the pretty everyday of a French table. Sylvie fills it with cherries or berries at breakfast, or keeps it on a dresser for rings and small things.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, these pieces have been used for many years and may show light wear consistent with their age.
