French Ceramic Pitcher

France, 20th Century

$180 $225

Antique

One-Of-A-Kind

Exactly As Pictured

This tall French ceramic pitcher is a beautiful example of the natural variation salt firing can create, with layered tones of honey, rust, and smoky brown that feel almost like a landscape across the surface. In traditional salt firing, salt is introduced into the kiln at high temperatures, where it vaporizes and reacts with the clay to form a natural glaze, giving each piece its own speckling, sheen, and subtle texture. Originally made for everyday serving, it’s the perfect statement pitcher for water or lemonade in the middle of a dinner table, and just as good used decoratively as a vase for budding branches when the party’s over.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
