Small Yellow Confit Pot

France, 19th Century

$295

Once upon a time, in old and busy French kitchens, confit pots were essential for preserving rich foods like duck confit. Derived from the French verb "confire," meaning "to preserve," these pots feature a half-glazed top and unglazed bottom, perfect for covering in fabric and burying in cool cellars or the ground. These pots are becoming harder to find, and are often thought to be the king of all the antique french kitchen pots. Today, these charming pots are a welcomed addition to your kitchen window sills or playing the main characters on your dining, coffee, or entryway tables. This small confit pot is exactly as pictured.
